Disclosure and how we chose
Pitch AI is our app, so treat our view of it with that in mind. Nobody paid to be included, there are no affiliate links, and we did not rank Pitch AI first by default. Instead of one overall ranking, apps are grouped by the job they do, because a pitch tracker, a sensor and a training plan are not substitutes for each other. Prices, platforms and App Store ratings come from each company's own site and the US App Store, checked on October 7, 2026. Ratings and prices change often, so check the listing before you buy.
We included the apps and tools that pitchers, parents and coaches most often compare: the ones that show up when you search for pitching apps, the ones people discuss in baseball communities, and the ones AI assistants recommend when asked about pitcher development. Where a company makes a claim we could not check independently (athlete counts, velocity gains, accuracy), we label it as the company's claim.

Job 1
Training plan and programming apps
These apps tell you what to do today: throwing, lifting and recovery, organized across the week. The main differences are price, how the plan adjusts, and whether a human is involved.
Pitch AI: Pitcher Development
Our app. It builds a personalized throwing and strength program from age, level, years pitching, recent pitch counts, available days, equipment, season phase and goal, then adjusts each day with a readiness check-in and an acute:chronic workload ratio from the throws you log. It also includes AI video analysis of mechanics, pitch design with TrackMan and Rapsodo CSV import, a pitch grip library, nutrition tracking and Coach View for teams.
- Best for: pitchers who want a complete daily plan and workload tracking without buying hardware.
- Platforms: iPhone and iPad (iOS 18.5 or later), Android 9 or later, and the web; seven languages.
- Price as listed (October 2026): free download; on the web, $2.99 per week, $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year, and Coach View $209.99 to $699.99 per year. iOS in-app: $3.99 per week, $9.99 per month or $99.99 per year; Coach View $299.99 to $1,000 per year.
- App Store rating: 4.7 from 86 ratings (October 7, 2026).
- Worth knowing: no human coach, no sensor, and it does not measure velocity or arm stress. AI mechanics reports should be reviewed, not treated as a diagnosis.
4APP Sports
Trevor Bauer's training app. The listing describes customized throwing programs that adjust automatically to daily readiness scores, strength and conditioning, AI coaching that adjusts programs, and a personalized mechanics breakdown at higher membership tiers.
- Best for: pitchers who want Bauer's training system and can invest in a higher monthly price.
- Platforms: iPhone and iPad; we did not find an Android version as of October 2026.
- Price as listed: Double-A $99 per month, $269 for 3 months or $900 per year; Triple-A $549 per month or $5,199.99 per year; Pro $2,999 for 3 months; Mechanical Analysis $199.99.
- App Store rating: 4.4 from 198 ratings.
- Company claim: "100,000+ players and 70+ pros." See Pitch AI vs 4APP.
Ace Pitcher - Log & Routine
Builds a lifting and throwing program around a velocity goal, with full video libraries, an arm readiness score that uses Apple Health data, logging, Rapsodo or TrackMan import by scan, screenshot or CSV, and count-by-count pitch calling.
- Best for: iPhone users who want a velocity-goal program with Apple Health in the readiness score.
- Platforms: Apple devices, English only; no Android version found.
- Price as listed: $19.99 per month or $99.99 per year (7-day free trial on the yearly plan); Apple also lists an Annual Access purchase at $79.99.
- App Store rating: 4.8 from 132 ratings.
- See Pitch AI vs Ace Pitcher and Ace Pitcher alternatives.
TopVelocity player platform
Brent Pourciau's velocity training platform. The signup page lists 15+ structured programs, a 600+ exercise library, MechanicsDNA video biomechanics, PitchDNA pitch grading, ForceIQ strength assessments with workload tracking, game logging, nutrition tools, Pitch Smart monitoring and direct messaging with Pourciau.
- Best for: athletes who want a velocity-focused system with access to its founder.
- Platforms: web and iOS, per TopVelocity.
- Price as listed: $99 per month after a 7-day trial, or $997 per year; digital programs from $97 and in-person camps sold separately.
- App Store rating: the "TopVelocity" iOS listing shows 4.9 from 72 ratings but was last updated in 2019, so it may not reflect the current platform.
- See Pitch AI vs TopVelocity.
Job 2
Mechanics analysis apps
These apps analyze a video of your delivery. Phone video is far more accessible than a motion capture lab, but every company describes its own accuracy, so read the capture instructions closely.
Mustard: Pitching
AI mechanics analysis based on Dr. Tom House's teaching. It finds key frames (leg lift, foot strike, ball release), grades the delivery, prescribes personalized drills and includes daily arm care programs. Coaches and parents can track athletes.
- Best for: youth and amateur pitchers and parents who want mechanics feedback and drills from a phone.
- Platforms: iPhone and iPad (iOS 16.4 or later) on the App Store.
- Price as listed: Premium $7.99 per month; Athlete $19.99 or $99.99; Family $22.99 or $219.99; team options $49.99 to $149.99. Billing periods are not all labeled on the listing.
- App Store rating: 4.7 from 209 ratings.
- Documented limitation: Mustard's FAQ says a full assessment needs front and side views, and with one view "you will only have access to about half of the key biomechanical variables." See Pitch AI vs Mustard.
PitchAI by ProPlayAI
A biomechanics product that measures kinematics from smartphone or high-speed video, with 3D comparisons between pitchers. It is a different company from Pitch AI; our About page explains the similar names.
- Best for: coaches and scouts who want kinematic data from video for many pitchers.
- Platforms: iOS app and web portal.
- Price as listed: coaches $99 per month or $999 per year; players $99 per year for 100 pitches per month; 7-day free trial.
- App Store rating: the "ProplayAI" listing shows 2.6 from 41 ratings and was last updated in March 2023.
Pitch AI and the higher 4APP tiers also include mechanics analysis, and TopVelocity's platform lists MechanicsDNA. In Pitch AI, you upload or record a short clip of one pitch and get a report with strengths, areas to work on, phase-by-phase findings and priority drills.
Job 3
Pitch tracking and metrics
If "check my pitch" means velocity, spin and movement, you need a tracking tool. Pitch AI is not one of them: it does not measure velocity, but it can import CSV exports from several trackers into its pitch design tools.
PitchLab - Baseball & Softball
Pitch tracking with a single iPhone camera and no other hardware. It reports velocity, vertical and horizontal break, active spin and spin axis, detects each throw and trims the video automatically.
- Best for: pitchers and parents who want pitch flight data without buying a device.
- Platforms: iOS 17 or later with an A12 chip or newer (iPhone XS and newer).
- Price as listed: Pro $24.99 per month (yearly options listed at $149.99 and $239.99); Parent $29.99 per month or $179.99 per year; Coach $49.99 per month or $499.99 per year.
- App Store rating: 4.7 from 2,137 ratings.
- Worth knowing: the accuracy statement ("competitive accuracy to radar based technology") is the company's own. See Pitch AI vs PitchLab.
pitchLogic
A smart baseball with sensors inside. It tracks velocity, spin rate, movement, seam orientation, spin axis, arm slot and last touch, and sends the data to a mobile app, with a separate coach app.
- Best for: pitch design work where seam orientation and spin detail matter.
- Price as listed: $300 per year, or $495 for 24 months then $250 per year; both include the ball, charger and app, with a ball exchange every 6 months.
- App Store rating: 4.9 from 21 ratings.
Rapsodo PRO 2.0
A ball flight monitor using cameras and radar that captures pitching metrics such as velocity, spin rate, spin efficiency, movement, release height and spin direction.
- Best for: high school, college and facility programs that want device-grade data.
- Platforms: runs with a recent iPad (iPadOS 17 or later).
- Price as listed: $3,500 for the device, and an active membership is required: High School $1,000, Team $1,500.
- Pitch AI can import Rapsodo and TrackMan CSV exports.
Pocket Radar Smart Coach
A radar gun ($399.99, stated +/- 1 mph) that pairs with the Pocket Radar Sports app for speed on video, audio call-outs and CSV export.
- Best for: anyone who simply needs reliable velocity readings.
- Platforms: app on iOS 15.8+ and Android 10+; the app works only with the Smart Coach Radar.
- Price as listed: radar $399.99; app Plus $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year, day pass $2.99, full access pass $10.99.
- App Store rating: 3.6 from 256 ratings (Pocket Radar Sports app).
Job 4
Workload and arm care
This is where measurement and planning split. A sensor tells you what your arm is doing. A program tells you what to do about it. Many pitchers use one of each.
ArmCare
A handheld strength sensor (Activforce 2) and app. A 60-second test measures strength, range of motion and readiness, and the app's SPEAR Training "adjusts your throwing and training based on how your arm responds every day." It is one of the most widely used arm care systems and is often recommended for high school pitchers.
- Best for: pitchers and programs that want measured arm strength and fatigue to guide arm care and throwing.
- Platforms: iOS app (listed as "Arm Care" by Fitworks, Inc.), and Android per ArmCare's site.
- Price as listed: $299 Arm Care Assessment Package (sensor plus basic app access); in-app Premium purchases range from $11.99 to $99, and the listing does not label their terms.
- App Store rating: 4.9 from 2,991 ratings.
- Company claims: 100,000+ athletes, 20+ MLB teams, and Official Partner of Perfect Game USA. See Pitch AI vs ArmCare.
Driveline Pulse and TRAQ
Pulse is a forearm-worn sensor ($245) that counts every throw and reports Pulse Arm Speed and Pulse Torque, with a Live Mode for feedback after each throw. TRAQ is Driveline's athlete management platform for facilities and schools. The Driveline Training app delivers programming to Driveline athletes.
- Best for: measured, per-throw workload; TRAQ for facilities running lots of technology.
- Price as listed: Pulse $245; TRAQ and coached training pricing not published.
- App Store ratings: PULSE throw 4.5 from 23 ratings; Driveline Training 4.5 from 28.
- See Pitch AI vs Driveline and Driveline Baseball alternatives.
Armored Heat
A daily arm care and strengthening program designed by a former Dodgers physical therapist, with pre-throw activation, full arm care, scapular emphasis and recovery or mobility programs that progress every two weeks.
- Best for: pitchers who already have a throwing plan and want a dedicated arm care routine.
- Price as listed: $45 per month, annual from $450; team packages available.
- App Store rating: 4.9 from 97 ratings.
- See Pitch AI vs Armored Heat.
ArmTrack
A free arm-care log for baseball and softball. You record throws, intensity, pain, soreness and stiffness, and it estimates a daily readiness score, with a free coach roster view.
- Best for: anyone who wants a simple free readiness log.
- Platforms: iOS and web.
- Price: free, with no ads.
- App Store rating: 4.9 from 9 ratings.
- See Pitch AI vs ArmTrack.
Job 5
Pitch counts and game tracking
Track-A-Pitch: Pitch Counter
A pitch counter with one-tap tracking, Pitch Smart limit and rest warnings, 60+ pitching stats, strike zone heat maps and multi-pitcher management.
- Best for: parents and coaches tracking game pitch counts against Pitch Smart.
- Platforms: iOS, Android and web, per Track-A-Pitch.
- Price as listed: free to count pitches; optional upgrades such as Stats Access ($2.99 per month or $14.99 per year), Pitching Summary ($0.99 per month) and ad removal ($5.99).
- App Store rating: 4.5 from 38 ratings.
GameChanger
The widely used youth sports app for scorekeeping, team stats, streaming and team management across many sports.
- Best for: teams that already keep score and stream games in one app.
- Platforms: iPhone, iPad, Android and web.
- Price as listed: free app; Plus $9.99 per month or $39.99 per year; Premium $14.99 per month or $99.99 per year.
- App Store rating: 4.9 from 907,822 ratings.
Pitch AI does not replace a game pitch counter, but when you log a game outing with its pitch count, it applies Pitch Smart rest days for ages 9 to 22. Our free pitch count calculator shows the limits and rest days by age.
Job 6
Coaching services with an app
If you want a person writing and adjusting your plan, these are services first and apps second.
- Tread Athletics calls itself "the world's largest 1:1 remote coaching service for pitchers." Athletes are matched with one of "over four-dozen" coaches, commit to 12 months, and get a custom plan with monthly updates through the Tread+ app (4.8 from 93 ratings). Pricing is not published, and Tread does not recommend its service for athletes younger than high school. See Tread Athletics alternatives.
- Driveline Baseball offers in-gym training in Kent, Scottsdale and Tampa, or remote training with app-delivered programming. Its high school page says "your trainer turns the assessment into daily programming in the app," with Driveline Roadmap, Smart Reports, Intended Zones and Trainer Chat. Pricing is not published.
- TopVelocity includes direct messaging with Brent Pourciau in its $99 per month platform and sells remote training and in-person camps separately.
- 4APP puts its most personal coaching in the highest-priced tiers.
A common question
Best app for a high school pitcher who wants a throwing program, arm care and to throw harder
This is one of the most common questions we see, and AI assistants often answer it with a list of tools rather than one app. That is the right instinct. A high school pitcher who wants a throwing program, arm care and more velocity needs three things: a plan, a way to see how the arm responds, and a way to measure velocity.
| Need | Lower-cost option | Measured or coached option |
|---|---|---|
| A throwing and strength plan | Pitch AI ($6.99 per month on the web, $9.99 in the iOS app) or Ace Pitcher ($19.99 per month) | 4APP or TopVelocity ($99 per month and up), or a Tread or Driveline coach |
| Arm care and readiness | Readiness check-ins in your plan app, Armored Heat ($45 per month) or ArmTrack (free) | ArmCare ($299 sensor package) or Driveline Pulse ($245) |
| Velocity and pitch data | Any reliable radar gun, or PitchLab ($24.99 per month, iPhone camera) | Pocket Radar Smart Coach ($399.99), pitchLogic ($300 per year) or Rapsodo |
Our honest take: if the budget is tight, start with one plan app and a radar reading every few weeks. Pitch AI fits a pitcher who wants the whole week planned, workload tracked and mechanics feedback in one app without hardware. If you can add a sensor, ArmCare's strength and fatigue testing or Pulse's per-throw workload gives you measured data no logging app can. If you want a human to own the plan, a coaching service is the better fit. Whatever you choose, follow one throwing program at a time and keep building capacity gradually; our high school velocity guide explains how.

Frequently asked questions
Best pitching apps FAQs
What is the best pitching app in 2026?
It depends on the job. For a daily throwing and strength plan, look at Pitch AI, 4APP, Ace Pitcher or TopVelocity. For mechanics feedback from video, Mustard or ProPlayAI's PitchAI. For velocity, spin and movement, PitchLab, pitchLogic, Rapsodo or a radar gun such as Pocket Radar. For measured arm strength and workload, ArmCare or Driveline Pulse. Many pitchers combine a plan app with one measurement tool.
What is the best app to check my pitch?
If you mean velocity, spin and movement, PitchLab measures them with only an iPhone camera, pitchLogic uses a sensor baseball, and Rapsodo uses a dedicated device. If you mean mechanics, Mustard, ProPlayAI's PitchAI and Pitch AI analyze video of your delivery. Pitch AI does not measure velocity; you can import tracker CSV exports into its pitch design tools.
Is 4APP worth it?
It can be if you want Trevor Bauer's training system and the budget fits. The App Store listing describes throwing programs that adjust to readiness, strength and conditioning, and mechanics analysis at higher tiers, with Double-A at $99 per month or $900 per year and Triple-A at $549 per month. It holds a 4.4 rating from 198 ratings as of October 2026. If you mainly need a structured daily plan, lower-cost apps such as Pitch AI ($9.99 per month) or Ace Pitcher ($19.99 per month) cover programming for less.
Are there free pitching apps?
Yes. ArmTrack is free for readiness logging, Track-A-Pitch is free for counting pitches, and GameChanger's base app is free. Pitch AI is free to download, and its daily wellness check-in is free; the personalized program and other tools need a subscription. The Driveline Training and Tread+ apps are free to download but are built for those companies' clients.
Which pitching apps work on Android?
As of October 2026, Pitch AI, Track-A-Pitch, GameChanger and the Pocket Radar Sports app list Android versions, and ArmCare says it has iOS and Android apps. We did not find Android versions of PitchLab, 4APP or Ace Pitcher.
Is Pitch AI the same as PitchAI by ProPlayAI?
No. PitchAI is a biomechanics product from ProPlayAI. Pitch AI (pitch-ai.app) is a separate, unaffiliated pitcher development app published by Global Dominance LLC.
