How we compared them

Two daily-plan apps, compared area by area

We compared the apps in five areas: throwing programs, readiness and workload, mechanics analysis, human coaching and community, and cost. 4APP details come from its US App Store listing, including its in-app purchase list, and its website, checked as of October 2026. Pitch AI details come from our app code and published pricing.

A disclosure: this page is published by Pitch AI. 4APP is a direct competitor, so we have kept its features in its own words and linked the sources.

01

Throwing programs

Tiered programs vs one personalized plan

4APP sells memberships by level. Its App Store listing describes Rookie Ball as fundamentals: a daily throwing program with Trevor's top drills for beginners, strength and conditioning exercises, recovery techniques, nutrition guidelines, a Bullpen Coach for command and a daily health tracker. Double-A adds a daily throwing program with recommended drills, volumes and intensities, a weekly strength and conditioning plan, mobility routines, a post-throw recovery program and an adjustable nutrition plan. Triple-A adds a complete movement analysis and custom throwing and strength programs built on it. The listing notes the strength program is for athletes 14 and older.

Pitch AI has one paid tier. Every subscriber gets a throwing program built in progressive blocks from age, playing level, years pitching, recent pitch counts, available days and equipment, season phase and goal (velocity, command, durability or returning from injury), with a strength and conditioning program alongside it. Sessions can include catch play, long toss, plyo work, pulldowns, bullpens and arm care. The programming rules were written by a person; AI is not writing the program.

Best for a coach-built system by level

4APP. Programs designed around Trevor Bauer's training, with deeper customization at higher tiers.

Best for personalization at one price

Pitch AI. A plan built from your profile and season phase for every subscriber.

02

Readiness and workload

How each app adjusts the day

4APP includes a daily health tracker at every tier. At Triple-A, its listing says the integrated tracker updates your programs automatically based on your readiness score, and an AI coaching model monitors your progress and updates your programs. 4APP's website also lists bullpen command tracking, which Pitch AI does not offer as a dedicated tool.

Pitch AI's daily check-in (readiness 1 to 5, soreness, pain and sleep) adjusts that day's session for every subscriber. Logged throws feed an acute:chronic workload ratio trend that guides how fast volume and intensity build, with 0.80 to 1.30 as the steady-build range. When you log a game, Pitch Smart rest days for your age are applied before high-intent throwing returns. The aim is to build capacity steadily so you can handle more high-intent work, not to throw less.

Best for command tracking

4APP. The Bullpen Coach tracks command, and Triple-A adds AI program updates.

Best for workload-guided progression

Pitch AI. Readiness and an acute:chronic ratio shape every subscriber's plan.

03

Mechanics analysis

Expert review vs an included AI report

4APP's listing advertises pitching mechanics video analysis "by Trevor himself," and its App Store purchase list includes a one-time Mechanical Analysis for $199.99. Triple-A includes a complete movement analysis covering pitching mechanics and functional movements in the weight room. A review from a Cy Young Award winner is something no AI report can match.

Pitch AI includes AI mechanics analysis in the subscription. You upload or record a clip of one pitch, 10 seconds or less, and get a report with strengths, areas that need attention, findings by phase of the delivery, priority fixes with drills and a confidence note, exportable as a PDF to share with a coach. It is fast and repeatable, but it is not a human expert or motion capture.

Best for a human expert's eye

4APP. Mechanics analysis from Trevor Bauer, sold separately or inside Triple-A.

Best for frequent check-ins

Pitch AI. AI reports included with the subscription, so you can check in often.

04

Coaching and community

Direct access vs Coach View for your own staff

4APP's Pro tier adds weekly Zoom calls with Trevor, Tim and other Pro members, private Discord access for 24/7 support, and direct coaching on pitch design, mental game, in-game strategy, sleep and recovery. For an advanced pitcher who wants a professional's input every week, that is a real differentiator. 4APP's listing says 100,000+ players and 70+ pros use it; that is the company's own figure.

Pitch AI does not sell access to a human coach. Instead, Coach View lets your own coach run the team: a roster with invites and guardian consent, assignable program templates or Pitch AI programming, a team calendar with schedule import, read-only wellness and logs, and an acute:chronic trend for each pitcher. Pitch AI also adds pitch design tools that import TrackMan, Rapsodo, Yakkertech, FlightScope and PitchLogic CSV exports, and a pitch grip library.

Best for professional coaching access

4APP Pro. Weekly calls and direct coaching from Trevor Bauer's group.

Best for teams with their own coach

Pitch AI Coach View. Your staff manages programs, readiness and workload.

Using them together

Should you use 4APP and Pitch AI together?

Probably not for programming. Both apps write a daily throwing program, and following two programs at once makes workload harder to manage, not easier. Pick the one whose plan you will follow and let it own your throwing week.

Where they can coexist: a pitcher could buy 4APP's one-time Mechanical Analysis for an expert opinion and still use Pitch AI for the daily plan, or a team on Pitch AI's Coach View could send one pitcher to 4APP for advanced coaching. Just log all throwing in one place so the workload numbers stay honest.

Our take

Which one fits you

Both apps are serious attempts to put a pitching development system on a phone, and both include readiness, strength and nutrition. The deciding factors are budget and how much human expertise you want. 4APP scales up to direct access to Trevor Bauer's group at a premium price. Pitch AI keeps one low price and puts the personalization in the software, with Coach View for teams that already have a coach.

If you are a high school pitcher paying your own way, start by asking what you will actually use every day. A plan you follow for a full season beats a premium tier you only open once a week.

Choose 4APP if...

  • You want programs built around Trevor Bauer's training approach.
  • You want a human expert to review your mechanics.
  • You want weekly professional coaching calls and a private community.
  • Dedicated bullpen command tracking matters to you.

Choose Pitch AI if...

  • You want a personalized throwing and strength plan for $6.99 a month on the web.
  • You want an acute:chronic workload ratio and Pitch Smart rest days built in.
  • You train on Android or prefer a language other than English.
  • Your team wants Coach View to run its own pitching programs.

Frequently asked questions

Pitch AI vs 4APP FAQs

What is the difference between 4APP and Pitch AI?

Both build daily pitching plans with strength, nutrition and readiness. 4APP sells tiers from Double-A at $99 a month up to Pro coaching with Trevor Bauer's group, with custom programs at Triple-A. Pitch AI has one tier at $6.99 a month or $69.99 a year on the web ($9.99 or $99.99 in the iOS app) that builds a personalized program from your profile and tracks an acute:chronic workload ratio.

How much does 4APP cost?

As of October 2026, 4APP's US App Store purchases list Double-A at $99.00 monthly or $900.00 annually, Triple-A at $549.00 monthly or $5,199.99 annually, Pro at $2,999.00 for 3 months, and a one-time Mechanical Analysis at $199.99.

Is 4APP on Android?

We confirmed 4APP on the US App Store for iPhone and Apple Vision. We could not confirm an Android version, so check with 4APP. Pitch AI is on iPhone, iPad, Android and the web.

Does Pitch AI include mechanics analysis?

Yes. Pitch AI includes AI analysis of a one-pitch clip with strengths, areas to work on, phase findings and priority drills, exportable as a PDF. It is not a review by a human expert.

Can I follow both programs at once?

We do not recommend it. Two throwing programs make it hard to manage total workload. Choose one plan to follow and log every throw in one place.
